God Teaching a Lesson from the Night Sky

It is a lovely and peaceful night. Everything is lit up dimly by the reflection of the sun's rays bouncing off the face of the moon. The bright and mesmerizing moon peeks through the scattered clouds as they slowly blow across the sky.
If you stare long enough, you would swear the moon is moving at a pretty noticeable speed. However, the moon isn’t moving at all. This is what is referred to as an illusion, something that looks one way but isn’t.

As I gaze into the sky, watching the beauty of the moon, clouds, and stars that are periodically visible, I can't help but think about the illusion that is presenting itself right in front of me.
This display of deception has me thinking. What illusions in my life have I believed that influenced my thoughts and actions?
As I reflect on how easily we perceive illusions as truth, it causes me to hold on to God’s hand even tighter.
The thought of that type of deception brings to life with greater magnification the words of God that tell us to trust in Him and not lean on our own understanding.
When you think about it, what is it that we really understand? Here’s another question: Can we accurately and fully understand something when we don’t have all the information? I believe these are questions that should be considered and thought through. If God, who is all-knowing, tells us not to lean on our own understanding of something, to me, that sounds like He knows we don’t have all the accurate information at our disposal, which can ultimately lead to deception.
I trust God. He knows me and you at the most intimate level. There is nothing hidden before Him concerning us. So I am inclined to listen to what He says is best, so that I can continue to live the life He wants me to live without bowing to a lie.
It’s amazing what lessons you can obtain by observing your surroundings. Looking at the beauty of the night sky and all its elements, the Lord opened up my eyes to see a lesson that I wouldn’t normally see. I thank Abba for the constant growth and shaping that make me look and see more like Christ.
